SPECIES INFO
Blue-Green Algae (Cyanophyta) (Cyanobacteria) are now considered as part of the Bacteria group. They are found in diverse habitats usually associated with water. Although all of these are microscopic, sometimes they form visible colonies. In fresh water, they sometimes form balls of blue-green substance. These balls can be tiny or as large as a golf ball. There are probably less than 3,000 species in this Blue-Green Algae group.

Monera phylum includes the various bacteria. These are somewhat cellular organisms, but they lack a cell nucleus. Many of these organisms cause serious illness in humans. The diseases include Botulishm, Cholera, Diptheria, Gonorrhea, Lyme Disease, Plagues, Salmonellosis, Syphilis, Tetanus, Typhoid, and TB.
