Species Info:

This lifeform is found east of the Continental Divide in North America. This lifeform is locally common in suitable environments.

Southern flying Squirrel is found from extreme southern Maine west to Minnesota and south to the northern two thirds of Florida and south to the eastern thirds of Texas. This small squirrel has a head and body length of less than six inches. The large eyes and lighter colored flap along the side of the body help identify this species.
