Peanut shells (Cerion genus) are native to the Bahamas, Florida Keys, and several other islands in the Caribbean. Although over 600 species have been described, Abbott contends there are only about 12 valid species in the genus.
Peanut Shells (Cerionidae Family) are a group of land snails found in the Bahamas, the Florida Keys, and south to Cuba and Puerto Rico. These snails are found near the ocean in large groups during periods of high humidity.
