The tube eye fish (Stylephorus chordatus) is found probably worldwide in warm and temperate oceans. This can be taken near southern Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.The tube eye is a long, up to about 12 inches, narrow fish with a very long red dorsal fin. The unusual feature is the very long single filament tail that can be muich longer than the length of the body.
